What Happened This Week In Washington — And Georgia

In case you’re keeping score, FiveThirtyEight’s predictions in November had Republicans favored to win the regular (Perdue) Georgia seat and Democrats favored to win the special (Loeffler) seat. So unless there’s a split tonight, we’ll go 1-1. A split is still possible, though!

As we await more results, we’re minutes away from another hot contest: Canada vs. USA for the gold medal in the hockey World Juniors!!

Speaking of efficiently tallying votes, I want you all to take a trip down memory lane with me to the first big electoral contest of 2020: the Iowa caucuses. Maybe 2021 really will be different.
