What Happened This Week In Washington — And Georgia
Right, Nathaniel — Pulaski County is also reporting around 95 percent of expected vote in, and there Ossoff and Warnock are running almost exactly where Biden ran in November (around 30 percent). Like Lanier, this is a small, heavily Republican county, so it’s hard to say whether this will hold true in bigger counties.
Some more small counties are more or less done counting (we think — all of this is based on pre-election estimates of what turnout will be). Ben Hill County is Loeffer +24 and Perdue +23 after being Trump +26. Franklin County is Loeffler +71 and Perdue +71 after being Trump +69. The evidence keeps pointing to a photo finish.
I’m sure y’all are watching the NYT needles and we don’t need to tell you about them, but for what it’s worth, they now show both races as “tilting” toward the Democrats. And the interesting thing is that they started from an assumption that the races were tied, rather than the polls that showed a very slight Democratic lead. But it’s very early.
