Warren did acknowledge the difficulty of passing gun control legislation, and turned it into a plug for getting rid of the filibuster. It’s an idea that is getting a surprising amount of traction in the primary, in part because candidates keep getting questions about how they’ll get their ambitious agenda through the Senate, although it’s much easier said than done.

Lee Drutman

Warren is right that we’re not going to get significant gun reform until we repeal the filibuster, and probably make D.C. and Puerto Rico states. Rural America has disproportionate power in the Senate, and guns are part of rural American culture.

Tony Chow

Nate, do you think more people in D.C. are watching that game or this debate?
