According to a September Axios/Ipsos poll, 68 percent of Americans said they wore a mask at all times when they left their homes. Another 21 percent said they wore a mask sometimes, but not all the time. Just 10 percent said they wore a mask only occasionally or never.

Just want to get this on record in case you’re just reading our live blog and thinking otherwise for some reason: This has not been a normal debate. In fact, it’s been a straight-up mess so far, and it’s actually kind of jarring to watch.
