What Went Down During The First Presidential Debate
So far the start of this debate has done neither candidate any favors, according to the response on Twitter. Sentiment has dipped from mostly positive to, at best, a split of positive and negative, and continues to slide.
Biden seems really ready on the COVID-19 point (though we’ll see what happens when the cross-talk starts). This seems like the biggest weak flank for Trump: the deaths, the fact he’s on tape saying he played it down.
It is actually a very important question — whether Biden would support getting rid of the filibuster and adding judges to the Supreme Court, as some liberals are urging. If Biden thinks he is going to make it to Election Day without answering those questions directly, good luck. There are two debates and a ton of other events moving forward, and Biden is going to keep getting pressed on this.
