Here’s the thing, we know a lot about school shooters and one of the most frustrating things is that they aren’t a surprise. They tell people their plans. Over and over and over. They talk about anger. They talk about suicide. They talk about hurting people. The problem is less figuring out who these kids are and more about figuring out how to listen to what they’re telling people.
