Warren saying that more research is needed on gun violence is a surprisingly moderate stance from someone who tends not to put forward a lot of moderate stances or say the right policy is unknown.

Booker is asked about his federal gun buy-back program. He uses his response to say that he’s probably the only one on the panel who’s had people shot in their own neighborhood, mentions someone who was killed at the top of his block last year. This guns moment is certainly the most sober one of the debate. Both Booker and Warren were quite forceful in their answers.
