I'll keep it simple. I think both candidates were much better stylistically than last time. I think Biden was better on the substance, staking out more popular positions, and he's probably going to have fewer fact-checking problems. Trump needed a big win to turn things around, and I don't think this was that. Maybe it shores up Trump's base a bit, or maybe it drives a few more independents to Biden. But this doesn't seem like the sort of debate that's going to be a big game changer.
