Biden just spoke about the importance of alliances. By and large, Americans are still in support of the NATO alliance: In 2019, 77 percent of Americans though the NATO alliance should be maintained. As of February 2019, support was fairly bipartisan: 70 percent of Republicans, 75 percent of independents and 88 percent of Democrats thought NATO should be maintained, according to Gallup polling.
