In the October 2018 survey I did, the top five issues for Democrats were health care (30 percent), Social Security (10 percent), income inequality (7 percent), racism (6 percent) and climate change (6 percent). We’ve heard something on health care and inequality, but less on Social Security, racism or climate change, though we’re getting a climate question now.

I’ve actually been pretty surprised that Warren hasn’t been more central in tonight’s debate. She had a pretty spirited back-and-forth with Booker at the beginning about her wealth tax, but the other candidates didn’t really seem interested in going after her Medicare for All plan. I guess it’s a good thing for her if she’s not being hit from the left and the center on health care, but this was also her chance to present her case for the plan and she’s not really getting it. We’ll see how it plays out in the second half of the debate, though.
