What Went Down In The Fifth Democratic Debate
Steyer is giving a decent answer on housing if he were running for governor of California. I remain skeptical that the presidency is the place to start with this issue, and in some places, housing is perfectly reasonable but there are no jobs. If this is a question for the president, it’s a national one and not just about astronomical prices in California, which after all is not a swing state. 😉
That was a fairly substantive but probably too detailed answer from Steyer on housing, who isn’t getting much speaking time and really needs to pivot to whatever takeaway message he wants voters to remember him by.
We’re getting up toward the one-hour mark, and so far, the clear winner? I think it’s all the Democratic leaders, including Barack Obama, who have been publicly wringing their hands about the candidates being too far to the left. Tonight, so far, the number of transformative-but-DOA ideas seems markedly lower.
