What Went Down In The Fifth Democratic Debate
Pretty much all of the candidates on tonight’s stage support mandating some kind of paid family leave, it’s just a question of how much leave they’re proposing.
I don’t mean to be a jerk, but Yang said “I will pass” in the casual way that people do that makes me yell PRESIDENTS DON’T PASS LEGISLATION. You can ask Congress to do it or you can sign an executive order, but you can’t “pass” things.
Not that I miss another Medicare for All retread, but it seems like the last half hour or so hasn’t been very substantive. Biden is talking about his justice department. Klobuchar talked about what women face in politics. Good theater, but veering off the issues and into the candidates talking about their qualifications and personal qualities.
