Nathaniel and Dan, I disagree! I mean, I think a far more likely explanation for Sanders not winning the 2016 primary was that voters knew and liked Hillary Clinton. Dan, you’re not totally wrong that conflict attracts attention, but I still think there’s potential for such an attack on a minor candidate to backfire.

I was going to use Steyer’s speaking time to check on NBA scores but then I remembered that I was the person assigned to cover him tonight. I thought that was a fairly decent answer, although the problem is that it’s not really a rationale for why he should be president as opposed to what he’s done before, which is fund progressive causes from the outside.
