What Went Down In The Fifth Democratic Debate

Obama last weekend made vague comments that were widely interpreted as casting Warren and Sanders as too left and unelectable. So it’s interesting the moderators are asking Sanders about that.

Warren seems to be acknowledging here that Medicare for All is a pretty seismic change. She says she’ll give voters a couple years to get used to more gradual changes to the health care system before fully transitioning to Medicare for All.

The funny part about Warren’s shift is that there’s a midterm before the third year of her hypothetical term, which could cost Democrats their hypothetical congressional majorities and prevent them from following through with her Medicare for All plan.
