This next segment on climate change brought up the wildfires out west, and just the other day there were concerns about a “firenado” in California.

The phrase “Green New Deal” was not used, but the linking of public-sector union jobs with climate change and its effect on Black communities in particular is the kind of thinking that the authors of the Green New Deal were pursuing. Biden has moved towards a Green New Deal-style climate plan after the primaries, though he hasn’t really used that phrase.
