What Went Down On Night 3 Of The DNC

Segments tonight will focus on very broad policy areas: gun control, climate change, immigration. It’s a very 10,000-foot-view of policy, but it gives you a flavor for the party and the issues it cares about, which is pretty standard convention fare.

The parties are increasingly polarized by gun ownership and gun control attitudes, though the Republican Party united around the issue first.

In a different world, gun control would probably be a much bigger issue in this election. But with COVID-19, the economy and race relations, it’s further down the list of what is most salient right now.
