In a different world, gun control would probably be a much bigger issue in this election. But with COVID-19, the economy and race relations, it’s further down the list of what is most salient right now.
Democrats are really leaning into the gun control message here. A sign of how much the politics of gun control have changed. Democrats used to try to appeal to gun owners, but we’re a long way from John Kerry trying to convince people he liked to hunt.
