Democrats are really leaning into the gun control message here. A sign of how much the politics of gun control have changed. Democrats used to try to appeal to gun owners, but we’re a long way from John Kerry trying to convince people he liked to hunt.

An opening montage with the families of people whose loved ones died in shootings. Again, I think this kind of feature works so much better in this medium than it does in a convention hall. It’s intimate and very emotionally produced.
