From a big-tent standpoint, having Yang speak is probably smart. In December 2019, I found that he had the youngest base of support of any Democratic presidential candidate and one that was heavily male. He was also an outsider candidate who went to places that candidates traditionally don’t go, like some podcasts and YouTube channels. So I think he could get attention in quarters that many speakers can’t.
