Next up: Maine state House Speaker Sara Gideon. Gideon is the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate against Republican Susan Collins, one of the races that will likely decide control of the Senate next year. Collins has long been popular in Maine due to her moderate voting record, but a recent Quinnipiac poll put Gideon at 47 percent and Collins at 43 percent.

While the DNC has not yet boosted any of the major players on Twitter, they have gotten the focus they were after with most of the Twitter conversation centered around civil rights and coronavirus.

I think what’s tough about the DNC’s task here is that they basically set out to produce a news special. They had to. But how many super engaging TV news specials are there? And then add on top of that, everyone isn’t even watching the news special, they’re actually watching a news special about the news special.

The actual substance of the speeches and discussions so far, though, has been brutal if you’re working on the Trump campaign, but will that break through?
