What Went Down On The First Night Of The Democratic National Convention
To commemorate New York overcoming the coronavirus, Cuomo released this poster. Seriously.
Only now, 45 minutes in, do we see volume of Twitter conversation about Trump start to decline, but the Democrats haven’t seen an equal uptick. But at least all the major Democrats are generally getting more positive than negative comments. Trump’s underwater with more negative comments than positive.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo leads off the segment on the coronavirus crisis. This was probably a no-brainer for convention organizers: Cuomo became a cable-news darling for his daily briefings on the coronavirus this spring, and New Yorkers gave him high marks for handling the crisis. According to a July Marist poll of New York, 72 percent of New York residents approved of how Cuomo was handling the pandemic, while 24 percent disapproved.
