Gov. Andrew Cuomo leads off the segment on the coronavirus crisis. This was probably a no-brainer for convention organizers: Cuomo became a cable-news darling for his daily briefings on the coronavirus this spring, and New Yorkers gave him high marks for handling the crisis. According to a July Marist poll of New York, 72 percent of New York residents approved of how Cuomo was handling the pandemic, while 24 percent disapproved.
I spoke with Jim Clyburn the day before he endorsed Biden. In the interview, he was a strong advocate of the party taking a more moderate path forward and was disparaging of progressive figures like Sanders and Ocasio Cortez.
