What Went Down On The First Night Of The Democratic National Convention
I’m not sure I get the complaints that this feels like an infomercial. Major party conventions have largely been infomercials for half a century, just with live studio audiences.
I’m trying to be sympathetic to the challenges of producing something like this but so far, this all feels very disjointed. I feel like I’m getting whiplash.
Biden just led a discussion about the need to address racial injustice in the U.S., but as you can see in the chart below from a recent story by FiveThirtyEight contributor Michael Tesler, Democrats and Republicans are still really separated on how big an issue systemic racism is in the U.S.
