What Went Down On The First Night Of The Democratic National Convention

So, let’s compare networks! I’m watching on PBS and they haven’t showed musical guest Leon Bridges. Instead, they’re interviewing Rep. Pramila Jayapal. What else is happening on other streams/networks? What are the talking heads blathering about?

Honestly, too, I think the TV format also brings home the tragedy of what George Floyd’s family has gone through in a way that people talking on a stage can’t. I am skeptical of this convention-to-TV forced experiment, but it brings voices like those straight into people’s living rooms, without the hubbub of the convention in the background — and that’s powerful.
