What Went Down At The December Democratic Primary Debate

One big question in the Senate trial is whether some of the witnesses who haven’t yet testified (Mulvaney, Bolton, etc.) will be called. Democrats, obviously, want them there, but they’re not in control. And Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has said maybe there won’t be any witnesses at all. Smart of Klobuchar to focus on that element of the impeachment inquiry, I think, since there are genuine unanswered questions from those witnesses.

Steyer was very early to impeachment, as he mentions here, calling for it as early as 2017. Warren was one of the earliest to call for impeachment in this campaign. But all of the candidates got there once House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and others in the party called for it amid the Ukraine controversy.
