What Went Down At The December Democratic Primary Debate
Perhaps unsurprisingly impeachment is the first question of the evening, as the House voted to impeach Trump last night. But there is now a question of whether the House has, in fact, impeached Trump. Harvard constitutional law professor Noah Feldman, who testified before the House, arguing that Trump’s behavior was impeachable, has now written a piece arguing that Democrats haven’t impeached Trump until they’ve transmitted the articles to the Senate, which they’ve talked about delaying.
Tonight’s debate is coming to you from Los Angeles. That’s notable because Democrats have never nominated a presidential candidate from California, or even anywhere in the West. That seems unlikely to change this year, as Steyer, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard or Marianne Williamson would have to become the nominee.
