What Went Down At The Nevada Democratic Debate

Biden says “we are the one,” referring to himself and the president. It’s grammatically incorrect, but very indicative of how Biden would like the American public to view the Obama administration.

From the perspective of what the Democratic Party apparatus might be thinking about this contentious debate: On one hand, parties want primaries that attract a lot of eyeballs, get the eventual nominee introduced to the American public and boost his or her name recognition. Debates with high ratings help do that. On the other hand, the party doesn’t want so much division that a segment of the party feels too bitter to turnout in November. Generally, parties want to find a happy medium.
