What Went Down At The Nevada Democratic Debate
Warren is talking about taking on financial institutions. Seventy-three percent of Democrats and 53 percent of Republicans think that banks and other financial institutions have too much power and influence in today’s economy, according to a September 2019 survey from Pew Research Center.
Over the past few days, a lot of candidates have been seizing on the fact that the Culinary Union is openly opposed to Medicare for All. Debate watchers might be sick of hearing about health care, but I’m guessing this is not the last we’re going to hear about this issue tonight.
Warren is the first candidate on stage to try to pivot the conversation back to issues/voters — she’s using the “I know a guy from around here” technique. That isn’t a bad idea: Rise above the fray after you’ve dabbled in it for a bit.
