Over the past few days, a lot of candidates have been seizing on the fact that the Culinary Union is openly opposed to Medicare for All. Debate watchers might be sick of hearing about health care, but I’m guessing this is not the last we’re going to hear about this issue tonight.

Warren is the first candidate on stage to try to pivot the conversation back to issues/voters — she’s using the “I know a guy from around here” technique. That isn’t a bad idea: Rise above the fray after you’ve dabbled in it for a bit.

Buttigieg says to Sanders, “You’re the one who is at war with the Culinary Union right here in Las Vegas.” That’s the largest union in Nevada and an obvious play for votes this Saturday.
