What Went Down At The January Democratic Debate
Is there any reason to think that the presidency is a different beast from congressional and gubernatorial runs, in regards to gender?
In a January poll from Ipsos/Reuters, 42 percent of registered Democratic voters say the most important factor in deciding who to vote for in the primary is a candidate who can beat President Trump in the general election. Eleven percent say the most important factor is a candidate who is strong on healthcare, and 11 percent say a candidate who is strong on the economy and job creation.
Warren points out that she and Klobuchar are the only candidates onstage who have won every election they’ve run. But that’s not necessarily what voters are anxious about, at least based on the conversations I’ve had with them. The concern is that another woman can’t win against Trump.
