What Went Down At The January Democratic Debate
Buttigieg mentions a young kid at his Winterset event (which I attended yesterday) who asked about climate change and what the world would look like in 2100, when he was 92 years old. (Fun sidebar: The kid’s name was Edward Kennedy!)
Steyer has taken a question about farmers in Iowa and the Trump administration’s trade war and used it to tout his activism on climate change. It was a pretty sharp answer, I thought — as Maggie mentioned, he ended it by appealing to young voters, who tend to prioritize climate change.
For what it’s worth, Micah, the most recent national poll from Quinnipiac University released earlier this week found that 57 percent of Sanders’s supporters picked Warren as their second choice while 52 percent of Warren’s supporters picked Sanders as their number two. This isn’t surprising in some ways, but it does seem like the progressive lane is a bit more obvious now than it was previously.
