I’m going to be watching health care, climate and any other science policy issues that come up in the debate tonight. But one thing I’m noticing, chatting with readers today, is that the science issues that seem to matter most to Democratic voters — including things like Trump administration’s cuts to environmental regulation — are more general-election issues than primary ones. Other than disagreements over Medicare for All, science is one of the things it’s kind of hard for a Democratic candidate to use to make themselves stand out from other Democratic candidates.
