Votes are starting to come in now from Montana, per the AP results, and former Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke, who also used to represent the state’s at-large district, currently leads former state legislator Al Olszewski by about 5 points, 43 percent to 38 percent, in the state’s new 1st District (it got a second district in reapportionment). It’s possible this is going to develop into a bit of a northern-southern split in the results because Olszewski use to represent a legislative district in northwest Montana around Flathead and Lake counties, which are in the northern part of the the new 1st, which is situated in the western third of the state.
