Yeah, Sarah, absolutely. Jonathan Robinson and Sean Trende had a good piece in The Atlantic the other day about the virtues of voting in the other party’s primary. And in many one-party rule states, the conservative-liberal divide within that party is more important than the Democratic-Republican divide. Think about the conflicts between moderate and conservative Republicans in the Kansas legislature or progressive and centrist Democrats in Rhode Island.
