As Kavanaugh begins his opening statement now, take note: Opinions of Kavanaugh are on the decline in competitive House districts, following allegations of sexual assault. According to a New York Time’s analysis of Upshot/Siena poll data, 42 percent of Americans across 10 competitive House districts support Kavanaugh’s nomination while 47 oppose it.
Prior to the allegations, the polling found a more even split with 46 percent to 45 percent in approval. This could spell bad news for Republicans if this continues to remain a top voting issue for Americans, like a Pew Research poll recently found.
