One risk they’re running here is that with this rather openly angry and indignant and frankly fairly partisan approach, Collins, Flake and Manchin, etc. can cite “temperament” as a reason to oppose Kavanaugh — even though they’re really opposing him for other reasons.

Like Perry mentioned, Kavanaugh is listing his previous political positions, for better or worse. Before the allegations of sexual misconduct against Kavanaugh, Democrats were asking for the release of documents from Kavanaugh’s time working in the George W. Bush administration as a staff secretary, likely because Democrats in red states needed a reason to vote no that wasn’t ideological or issue-based. The documents were not released.

I am now generally curious about how the Democratic senators will question him. It seems like those exchanges could get really intense.
