What Happened In The Brett Kavanaugh Hearing

I wonder how it would play politically if Trump jumped in and withdrew Kavanaugh, without a lot of ceremony about it, and sort of challenged the GOP base to send their arrows at him. The #NeverTrump Republicans, who are quite pro-Kavanaugh, would be very, very angry — but they’re a tiny part of the electorate, which is how we got Trump in the first place.

Even Ted Cruz—who prides himself on his debate and legal skills—is deferring his time to Mitchell. Cruz is the only member of the Judiciary Committee facing a competitive reelection campaign this year, which may have entered into his calculus here.

I really wish that people weren’t bringing polygraph tests into this. They are not a good indicator of, really, much of anything.
