Hold onto your butts: The race in Michigan’s 3rd District GOP primary is super tight. Meijer now leads by about 1 point over Gibbs, 50.6 percent to 49.4 percent, with about half the expected vote reporting. The good news for Meijer is that he’s up by about 9 points in Kent County (Grand Rapids), which has still only reported about half of its votes and will probably make up around 70 percent of the district’s total vote. The good news for Gibbs is that he’s doing better in Kent than he was earlier in the night, and Muskegon County has barely reported anything — if Muskegon acts like Ottawa County, which has gone for Gibbs by 11 points (it’s almost fully reported), that could boost Gibbs’s chances.
