While we wait for results in Arizona’s 6th District, the four GOP candidates who took part in a debate in May spent a lot of time on immigration. Kathleen Winn, a member of the Maricopa County Community College District Governing Board, said cartels were running the border, while Young Mayberry, an Air Force veteran, called the level of immigration an invasion, and Brandon Martin, who ran in 2020, echoed Great Replacement Theory talking points. Lucretia Free, a publisher, said she supported immigration reform in a way that allowed more legal immigration. The candidates were also critical of Biden’s COVID-19 and economic policies.
