Alex’s question about the Squad is a great segue to check in with the progressive candidates we’re watching tonight. Most are incumbents, but in Michigan’s 11th District, Rep. Andy Levin is facing another incumbent, Rep. Haley Stevens, due to redistricting. Stevens herself isn’t necessarily politically conservative, but it is Levin who has backing from progressive groups, such as Indivisible, Sunrise Movement, Our Revolution, and Sen. Sanders. He’s trailing with 74 percent of the expected vote reporting. And as Alex already mentioned, in Missouri’s 1st District, Rep. Cori Bush is the projected winner, and in Michigan’s 12th District, Rep. Rashida Tlaib is leading.
