As tonight’s results demonstrate, Sarah, there is no future for Cheney in the Republican Party. Even if there’s an appetite for a Trump alternative like DeSantis, that person can’t be anti-Trump. Yet it looks like there will be multiple anti-Trump vanity runs in 2024; most notably, Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan has visited both Iowa and New Hampshire, and looks quite likely to run. My advice to the Hogan/Cheney/Kinzinger wing of the party: Get in a room and pick one and only one of you to run. Then maybe you might stand a chance of winning 10 percent of the vote!
