Beto O’Rourke brought up reparations for slavery. As poll bot mentioned in the last debate, 46 percent of Democrats think providing reparations for slavery is a good idea, while 40 percent think it’s a bad idea, according to an NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll from mid-July.

Nathaniel mentioned that some of O’Rourke’s best moments have been on race. It’s actually worth noting that O’Rourke does better with Latino voters in Texas than Castro.

I was at an HCBU the other week in South Carolina at an O’Rourke event, and he also talked about the New York Times 1619 Project about the beginning of slavery in America. Mentions like these are definitely part of his campaign’s refresh.
