Honestly, Americans send pretty mixed messages on what they want from healthcare. We like our insurance companies. We like single payer healthcare. Personally, I think people just want something that works but don’t really care what it is.

As your Castro correspondent, I wondered before the debate whether Castro would have another feisty moment like he had in the first two debates. And that was certainly it. I wonder, though, if it will actually decrease his favorable ratings, as Biden is very well liked among Democrats and that was a vicious attack.

The non-Biden candidates have a collective action problem in that it probably benefits them all collectively to go after Biden’s age … but maybe not the individual who starts the argument. So, Castro is taking one for the team in some sense.
