Talk about implicit assumptions that aren’t challenged very often: defining “middle class” as everything up to $250,000 a year.

Thank goodness for another mention by these candidates of their websites.

I think there’s going to be a reckoning over the debt load some former students are carrying — and that will eventually, in my opinion, lead to a write-down of some debt. Education debt cannot be discharged in a bankruptcy. So some (few) people have actually seen their Social Security checks garnished to pay their education debt. And then there are some colleges that are unaccredited or lose accreditation, often for-profit schools, leaving students with debt that does not advance their careers or standing in any way. I wish the moderators would ask directly if there should be a write-down of student debt and how the U.S. government would pay for it.
