ABC Democratic Debate: Live Coverage
From some quick Googling, there are about 20 million college students in the United States and 3 million teachers. By comparison, there are about 450,000 finance jobs in New York City — a reasonable approximation of “Wall Street.” So it’s really not at all impressive that Clinton has more contributions from students and teachers than from people on Wall Street — they outnumber Wall Street in the population about 50:1.
From commenter James Prentiss: “Is anyone watching this debate thinking, ‘I like this candidate…if only I knew how to get to their website on the internets’? “
Nate, I don’t really think so. She’s not in real danger of losing the nomination, and most swing voters aren’t paying attention now. Clinton is just trying to play out the clock, and the debates don’t really help her do that.
