Two ballot initiatives in Nevada are currently leading, with 78 percent of the expected vote in. One would establish an open top-five primary and ranked-choice voting for general elections, similar to the system that went into effect in Alaska this year. The “yes” votes for that measure lead the “no” votes, 52 percent to 48 percent. If it passes, it would have to go before voters again in 2024, and if it passes again, implementing legislation would need to be adopted by the state Legislature. The “yes” votes on an initiative to increase the state’s minimum wage to $12 an hour is currently ahead, 54 percent to 46 percent.
