Although the outcomes in Arizona’s Senate and gubernatorial races remain uncertain, the GOP probably feels good about the House results in the Grand Canyon State. Crane has defeated O’Halleran in the 2nd District, and in the 6th District, Republican Juan Ciscomani leads Democrat Kirsten Engel by 1 point, 50.5 percent to 49.5 percent, with 67 percent of the expected vote reporting. Looking at what’s left there, it seems that most of the vote is in Pima County (Tucson), which is the most Democratic-leaning part of the seat. However, the remaining votes are a mix of Election Day and mail votes, and overall, we expect the outstanding votes to be redder than the ones already counted, so you’d rather be the GOP there. Lastly, Democrat Jevin Hodge leads GOP Rep. David Schweikert by 2 points, 51 percent to 49 percent, with 71 percent of the expected vote reporting. But the Republican trend in the vote count will likely put Schweikert in front, giving the GOP a hold there. So all in all, Republicans could be looking at two House wins in Arizona.
