There are some important outstanding down-ballot races in Arizona, too. In the 2nd District — an geographically large district that encompasses the northeast corner of the state — Democratic incumbent Rep. Tom O’Halleran has fallen behind Republican challenger Eli Crane, a former Navy Seal who is endorsed by Trump and has repeated the former president’s baseless claims that the 2020 election was stolen. With 81 percent of the expected vote returning, Crane has 54 percent to O’Halleran’s 46 percent. Given that those later counts will likely lean Republican, it’s not a great place for O’Halleran to be this morning. The races for attorney general and secretary of state in Arizona are also both tight. Democratic A.G. candidate Kris Mayes leads Republican Abraham Hamadeh by less than 10,000 votes, with 66 percent of votes in, according to the New York Times. And Democrat Adrian Fontes is holding off Republican and election denier Mark Finchem, 52 percent to 48 percent, with 66 percent of votes in.
