There’s now 27 percent of the vote in in Minnesota’s 2nd District, and Republican challenger Tyler Kistner is leading Democratic incumbent Angie Craig, 51 percent to 46 percent. Craig is a fiscal moderate who opposed Minneapolis’s Amendment 2 last year, which would have reorganized public safety departments in the city and removed minimums on police hiring. That amendment was framed by opponents as “defunding the police.” Despite being opposing the amendment and working to support the families of officers who die by suicide because of job-related stress, Craig has been framed in attack ads as being in favor of defunding the police.
