ABC News has projected that Democrat Josh Shapiro will defeat Republican Doug Mastriano in Pennsylvania’s governor’s race. Shapiro, the state’s attorney general, had polled ahead of Mastriano throughout the cycle, aided by Mastriano’s many controversial positions — including his strong embrace of Trump’s false claims that the 2020 election result was fraudulent.
